Resonance is more than a hearing clinic, we are a listening clinic. We are interested in how your sense of hearing is impacting your life so that we can find the best solution for you and your lifestyle. Here is a little more information about us:
Dr. Terence Miranda, AuD, RAUD, RHIP
Terence was born and raised in Simcoe, Ontario. He earned his B.Sc. in Engineering from Queen’s University in 1994 and worked as a reservoir engineer with Imperial Oil before finding his true calling as an Audiologist. He graduated with his M.Sc. in Audiology from the University of British Columbia in 2000 and his Doctorate in Audiology from the PCO School of Audiology in 2008. Terence and his partner Sonya are proud parents of identical twin girls, Mila and Katia. Terence enjoys running, hiking and spending time with his family.
Angela Nessel, RHIP
Angela has been with Resonance Hearing Clinic since our inception in 2009. She loves working as a Hearing Instrument Practitioner where she can take the time to listen to peoples needs and make a difference in their lives. Prior to her career in hearing health she was a Resident Care Attendant, working with patients with dementia and other cognitive impairments. Angela was born and raised in Victoria, moving to the Cowichan Valley with her husband a decade ago to raise their two children in the rural lifestyle of the Cowichan Valley. She enjoys camping with her family, working around her property and the sport of Competitive Trail Riding with her Quarter Horse.
Maureen works part time at our reception desk in Cobble Hill and has been with us since March 2011. She was born and raised in Australia and left at the age of 22. After two and a half years of travelling and meeting Kevin, her husband, she now lives in the Cowichan Valley. She has a Diploma in Hospitality Management and spent many years working at Satellite Bar and Grill at Arbutus Ridge. She has 3 daughters and a very busy life. She enjoys spending time with her family, even if it means a lot of driving to activities such as dance, hockey, piano or soccer. As a family they enjoy camping, long hikes, bike riding and spending time at Shawnigan Lake.
Corrina works the reception desk at our Lake Cowichan office. She grew up in Alberta and came to Vancouver Island after joining the Navy as a Marine Engineer. She and her husband have made Lake Cowichan their home and she has enjoyed the opportunity to work in her own town as it has given her the opportunity to meet her fellow Lake Cowichaners. When Corrina isn’t at the office helping patients with their hearing or vision needs, she can be found onstage in the Cowichan Valley theatre community productions.
Ashley is the newest member of our team. She was raised in the Cowichan Valley and has earned diplomas in music, voice performance, and teaching from the Victoria Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Lethbridge. She has taught voice for the past 4 years and has just started teaching voice lessons at Brentwood College. Besides being a passionate singer, Ashley has worked for the last two years in Ophthalmology as an Ophthalmic and Sterilizing Technician. She possesses great customer service skills, and with her warm, reassuring attitude she is always ready to use her experience to help inform you and address your needs. In her spare time, Ashley’s hobbies include singing in the opera chorus, floral designing, gardening, and hiking.
